If you die in this very moment what will die with you.. what dreams ?

You are the same today as you’ll be in five years, only two things can bring change in your life : "the people you meet and the books you read" - anonymous

I find so much value in the books I read that I feel the need to share those lessons with you as well. The featured Book is "LAST LECTURE"

A brief Intro:

The Last Lecture was written by Randy Pausch, a former professor at Carnegie Mellon University. I say former because, unfortunately, Randy passed away in 2008 due to pancreatic cancer. The book is an adaptation of a lecture that Randy gave in 2007 entitled “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”. Randy was asked to give his last lecture as part of Carnegie Mellon’s “Journeys” lecture series, which featured lectures where professors were asked “to consider their demise and to ruminate on what matters most to them”. The catch with Randy was that this would indeed be his last lecture, as he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and agreeing to speak.

The real value of the book, is the fact that it is really important that a dying man’s instructional handbook on how to live your life by achieving your childhood dreams and following your passion.

I find this video conveys the same message what the Last lecture book gives.

"If you die in this very moment what will die with you... what dreams ? what ideas? what talents? what greatness that hidden in you...? you can't get an another chance, there is only one life."

Some of the best lines from the book:

“The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”

"It's not how hard you hit. It's about how hard you get hit... and keep moving forward."

“The key question to keep asking is, Are you spending your time on the right things? Because time is all you have and you may find one day that you have less than you think.”

“Too many people go through life complaining about their problems. I've always believed that if you took one tenth the energy you put into complaining and applied it to solving the problem, you'd be surprised by how well things can work out.”

“The person who failed often knows how to avoid future failures. The person who knows only success can be more oblivious to all the pitfalls.”

“Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted. And experience is often the most valuable thing you have to offer.”

“If nobody ever worried about what was in other people's heads, we’d all be 33 percent more effective in our lives and our jobs.”

“It's not about how to achieve your dreams, it's about how to lead your life, ... If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself, the dreams will come to you.

“Luck is where preparation meets opportunity. ”

“If you can find an opening, you can probably find a way to float through it.”

"Fear has two meanings : 'Forget Everything and run' or 'Face everything and rise' The Choice is yours."

“People lie for lots of reasons, often because it seems like a way to get what they want with less effort."

“Find the best in everybody. Just keep waiting no matter how long it takes. No one is all evil. Everybody has a good side, just keep waiting, it will come out.”

“When you see yourself doing something badly and nobody's bothering to tell you anymore, that's a bad place to be. You may not want to hear it, but your critics are often the ones telling you they still love you and care about you, and want to make you better.”
